Bio: Stephanie is, generally speaking, a very friendly woman, but she has a short temper and is very protective of people she calls friends. Her personality has been greatly shaped by her teenage years, her family, and the fact she is a single mother of a four-year-old boy named Danny.

Stephanie started her wrestling career in the NWCI, and ironically, was a heel. Her heelish nature came from the fact she grew up living on her own since she was 14, having ran away from home to escape an abusive father, and not having any friends. She remained a loner for the early part of her career, and found herself feuding with Queen Sonya. During a match which Sonya won, she continued to beat down Stephanie after the match, only to be rescued by another arch rival of Sonya, The Black Widow.

After that, Stephanie suddenly felt the need to have someone as a friend. This led to her personality slowly changing, and becoming protective of Black Widow as a result. The two even teamed up on a pair of occassions, one where she, Widow and Holly Volley defeated Queen Sonya and her allies in a cage match. During this time, Stephanie learned she was adopted, having been separated from her real family at a young age. And the strong bond she felt with Widow was further explained when she learned Widow was, in fact, her sister, and a member of her real family she had been separated from.

Having learned this, Stephanie changed her wrestling persona entirely, thus becoming "Superstar" Stephanie Harper. And although she struggled at first in her re-directed career, she soon rose to become the NWCI Women's Television champion, defeating Lasera for the belt. The NWCI then went on hiatus, and Stephanie was then briefly inactive from wrestling. It was during her inactivity she learned about something else that would change her life again...she was pregnant.

Unbeknownst to most of her family, Stephanie had developed a close relationship with family friend Thomas Brody, who was soon revealed to be the father of Stephanie's baby. Stephanie gave birth to her son, who she called Danny. Brody, however, never could accept fatherhood, and he and Stephanie separated a few months later. But a few months after her son's birth, after NWCI resumed operations, Stephanie decided to return to the squared circle.

Upon her return, she quickly rose up the ranks, winning the NWCI Women's World title from Laura Mercy. Stephanie then found herself being named the number one contender for the NWCI Women's UFC title, a title held by her sister, The Black Widow. In that match, Stephanie won, but noticed that her sister wasn't wrestling at her best. It was discovered that Widow had cancer, necessitating she take time off from the sport. Stephanie, however, continued forward with her career, defending her titles until the NWCI shut down, this time for good.

She then opted to concentrate on raising her son, Danny, but after many months, Stephanie got the urge to return to wrestling. She signed on with IWWA, and found herself in a heated feud with a masked woman called The Predator. The feud culiminated when the two women faced off in a steel cage match, which Stephanie won. Per the match stipulations, The Predator was forced to unmask, revealing herself to be Sarah Victory.

But along with this feud, Stephanie had noticed Brandi Lynn, a fellow Texan who was unwilling to trust a lot of people because of some failed partnerships. When Brandi was attacked after a match with Amy Devlin by several members of Devlin's Corporation, Stephanie came to Brandi's aid. It took some time, but Stephanie eventually convinced Brandi that she wanted a genuine friendship, and the two formed a tag team called the Lone Stars. Stephanie then did battle with The Corporation, capturing the IWWA Television title from Vicious Victoria Vasquez, and losing an IWWA World title match to Callisto after Amy Devlin's interference. But soon after that, the IWWA folded.

Following another hiatus from wrestling, Stephanie signed with LPWL. During the promotion's brief run, she formed a friendship with Tara Smith and Arielle Starr, the three believing in the same principles and also sharing some common enemies. After LPWL closed, Stephanie signed with WWO, with the intent to join her friends, Tara and Arielle. The WWO, however, was going through some hard times, and so Tara and Arielle helped Stephanie get a contract with UWF. Soon after Stephanie's arrival, in which she helped Tara and Arielle fend off the Throbbing Mattress Kittens, she and her friends formed the Sun Belt Angels and found themselves in heated rivalries with TMK and The Bod Squad.

One of those Bod Squad members, Bliss, became upset after losing a singles match to Stephanie, and began attacking her physically and psychologically. Also during this time, Stephanie crossed paths with Tigress, who tried poking into Stephanie's mind psychologically by bringing up her past. Stephanie lost a match to Tigress at Gold Rush 2001 via disqualification after Bliss interfered. And the combination of Tigress' mind games and Bliss' attacks caused Stephanie's anger to be triggered immensely.

Stephanie found herself in an uneasy pairing in several tag team matches with Tigress, one against The Bod Squad. Over time, her energies were less focused on Tigress and more so on Bliss, after Bliss attacked Stephanie in front of her family, including her son, Danny. Stephanie, feeling anger like she never felt in some time, challenged Bliss to a UFC rules match at Evolution 2001. Stephanie won the match, thanks in part to some training she received from her corner person, "Mockingbird" Nina Grimsson.

After this all took up much of her career in 2001, and with the many factors building up a rage inside her, Stephanie found herself not liking the type of person she had become. As she saw it, she was coming the closest to the type of person she was years ago when she had to fend for herself. For several months, she contemplated retirement.

Stephanie was ultimately convinced to stay in the business after reassuring words from her friends Tara and Arielle, and an unlikely person, Paul Wong of the Machines. Now, Stephanie is looking to re-focus her energies in her wrestling career, and prove that she still has what it takes to be the best in the business, something she recently proved after she defeated Marissa Monet at Gold Rush 2003 to become the UWF Women's World Champion.

Stephanie Harper's thoughts on...

My thoughts on Stephanie Harper: I think the background I developed for Stephanie has really helped shape her current character. The fact she spent so many years by herself after she ran away from home, leads to her being protective of her friends because she never had friends for so many years. Originally, the character started as a female version of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, but her present character has been much better, in my opinion. She's the type of wrestler who isn't looking to outright break the rules, but because of her temper, she may do some things she normally wouldn't do. That's also an example of how her past can affect her in the present, as she has never gotten over the fact she never had a loving father. I think her character been fun to explore, especially how her past affects her current attitude, even if she tells people that she's learned to get over her past.
