Past leagues: EFW (P* league), EFW (e-fed), NWCI, NWWA, VCW, WAR

Appearance: The brothers each have black, short hair, and lean builds. Edward is a little taller, and Jacob is a year younger than Edward, and a little more muscular. They both wear standard wrestling trunks...Edward's are blue on the front and red on the back, and Jacob's are red on the front and blue on the back. Edward wears red wrestling boots, while Jacob's are blue. They do not look exactly alike, as Jacob has a narrower face than Edward does.

Personality: The brothers are both arrogant and live for fighting. They are masters at double teaming opponents, and have no problems getting down and dirty to win matches. It is for this reason they prefer to wrestle extreme-style matches. Both are talented aerialists and technical wrestlers, but they are also expert brawlers, which they got from the way they grew up. They often got into fights as youngsters, and learned how to defend themselves that way. Despite their bragging, the Drakes are two men who take wrestling seriously.

Finishing move: Shipwrecked (Jacob executes a front-layout suplex, while Edward comes off the top rope with a guillotine legdrop.)

Personal info: Both Edward and Jacob enjoy collecting artifacts and weapons from the old English days, and studying the history of the man they say is their ancestor, the great British sailor Francis Drake.

Biography: The Privateers debuted in EFW, headed by Edward McCann, and soon after their appearance, they won a battle royal to secure a tag team title shot. The league closed, however, before that could happen. The duo then signed on with NWCI, staying briefly but then disappearing for a while, only to return several months later with their sister, "British Bad Girl" Lisa Drake. The Drakes, during this time, were associated with the Tri-State Terrors, a group of wrestlers who were fed up with being overlooked by certain promotions and set out to wreak havoc on anybody in their paths. During their NWCI stay, the Privateers captured the I-C tag team titles.

After the NWCI closed, the Privateers headed over to another EFW, this one under the ownership of Paul E. Furiously. They quickly rose to become the tag team champions, holding the belts for several months. The duo was scheduled to team with Billy Kane for the six-man belts, but when Billy was deported from the country, Lisa Drake stepped into the match, and the three siblings won the belts.

Following the closure of the EFW, the Privateers and their sister, Lisa, have ventured to leagues such as VCW, NWWA and WAR. The decision to sign with WAR, a promotion based in Japan, wasn't entirely by choice, as the Drakes had been barred from competing in U.S. wrestling promotions because the brothers had introduced swords into a couple of matches they competed in.

But as fate would have it, the ban was lifted for one night only so the Privateers could team with Heidi Leick at Wrestlebowl. And as fate would also have it, Edward and Jacob found new enemies...Team Canada, one of the top tag teams competing in the UWF.

So the Drakes found a way to get around their ban of competing for U.S. wrestling promotions...since UWF was based in Canada, the Drakes signed contracts with the promotion, thus enabling them to appear in the promotion's shows ran in the United States, and are now hot on the heels of Team Canada.

My thoughts on the Privateers: It's been kind of a rough going for these guys, given that I haven't had as many opportunities as I would like to have to get their characters developed. The problem there was several e-feds they were in have closed over the years and I never did get into a groove with them. I'm hoping their latest run with the UWF will help me to expand on the basics I have with their characters.
