Frequently asked questions about Holly Volley:

Q: Where did you get the name and gimmick from?

A: I became a fan of high school volleyball after watching matches when I covered them for the Rocky Ford Daily Gazette. When I decided to create a female wrestler who would be Rocky Ford Meloneer's sister, the name Holly Volley just came to me. For the record, Rocky Ford High School never had a competitive volleyball team when I was living there, but another local team, Fowler High School, is well known throughout Colorado for its high school volleybal program, so there is some tie-in to the area.

Q: What makes UFC so special to Holly?

A: Holly held the NWCI's UFC women's title for a year, thus gaining a reputation for being unbeatable in UFC matches. When she dropped the title, it was because I was getting burned out on fantasy and e-wrestling and needed to give her a break, so I allowed her to drop the belt cleanly to Lara Hart. She never regained the title after that, but her character has never been harmed.

Q: What tag teams was she in?

A: She originally formed the Athletic Club with Stacy Storm. Stacy was then written out of the team for a storyline I did for her, so Strategist Sarah Sharpe stepped in. The two won the UFC women's tag team titles, but later dropped them. Sarah was written out with a shoulder injury, and Holly was originally going to stick with singles wrestling. Then Jon Heline asked about having her team up with Black Widow, considered to be one of Holly's toughest opponents in the NWCI. He had Widow and Lara Hart teaming as Black Hart, but passed Lara on to a handler he took her from, Jason Martin, who left Prodigy at one point but later returned. This lead to Widow and Holly teaming as Black Hart. They were later renamed High Intensity.

Q: Why is Widow considered Holly's toughest opponent?

A: Holly and Widow had many battles over the NWCI Women's World and Women's UFC titles. Holly won the battles for the UFC title, while Widow won the battles for the World title. Those who were in NWCI would remember the matches the two went through.

Q: Who are Team Spirit?

A: Karen Johnston and Amy Donelson, two of Holly's high school buddies who got into wrestling at Holly's encouragement.

Q: Why is Holly now competing in Japan?

A: Holly's propensity for technical wrestling and some shoot fighting, as well as more of her emphasis on her wrestling talent, made her a natural fit for Japan. She has had brief stints in RINGST*RS, JIWWA and BLAZE. Recently, I decided to retire her for the time being, but who knows...she may return someday.
